Send Relief Christmas Backpacks

Each year, the Centennial Baptist Association joins churches all over Georgia to send Christmas backpacks to children in need. During our partnership with Copper Basin Crisis Center, we chose to deliver them ourselves in time for them to distribute them at Christmas. Each year we have exceeded our goal.

In 2017 we partnered with the Bethel Baptist Association for an event in Quitman County, one of the poorest counties in our state. We collected backpacks at our Annual Fall Meeting, which was held at Antioch Baptist Church on October 24, 2017. Thank you to the Gordon College BCM for organizing the collection and for packing the truck.

For more information about how to pack a backpack, resources to print out and include, and information about the backpack program, go to

If your church would like to purchase backpacks, we have found that www.bagsinbulk.com provides quality backpacks at a reasonable price.

The Centennial office has received copies of the Christmas story, postcards for the Mailbox club, and labels for anyone who plans on packing backpacks this year. Let us know how many you need and we will have them ready for you.

Thank you for participating in the backpack collection for the children in Quitman County, GA. Centennial collected and delivered over 650 backpacks which were distributed on December 2, 2017. We will once again collect backpacks at the Fall Meeting on October 23, 2018, at Yatesville Baptist Church.
